Is It Safe to Sell My Home During Covid-19?

Previous posts have discussed quite a bit about the demand for homes nationwide and how well the market is doing right now. However, we are still facing a pandemic that has widely affected many. Is there a way to take safety precautions while maintaining a smooth transaction? Absolutely! Here are two ways:

1)   A New Home Could be at Your Fingertips

With all of the technology available, many stages of the buying process can be done virtually! Video listings and open houses allow you to check out the inside of a home without ever coming into contact with anyone. Additionally, most agents are available over video chat to answer your questions and guide you through the process. If you become a serious buyer, then you can consider an in-person showing (with precautions, of course).

2)  Safe In-Person Showings

Recently, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) came out with a set of safety guidelines for agents to follow during showings and open houses. A couple of these include:

  • Limit in-person activity

  • Have all guests wash their hands or use sanitizer upon entry

  • Either remove shoes or cover them with booties

  • Follow social distancing and mask guidelines

Your agent will do everything to help you stay healthy AND find the house of your dreams.

Even with the stress surrounding the current health crisis, there are so many options to help you still have a great experience! You can look at homes all online, or choose to attend an open house safely. Contact us about how to start the process today!
