5 Pumpkin Carving Ideas that Stand Out

‘Tis the season! If you have pumpkins sitting around and are wondering what to do with them, look no further. Coming up with a unique pumpkin design for fall decorations doesn’t have to be hard. Here are 5 different designs that you can use this year!

Etched Designs

This design can be tricky, but adds some great pop to a room! Draw out the design you want with a marker and hold the carving tool sideways instead of sawing straight through the pumpkin. You will start to see layers to your design!

Vomiting Pumpkin

Make sure to leave some of the insides of the pumpkin aside for this one! Once you have carved the face, simply leave some of the “guts” hanging from the front of the mouth to give the vomit effect. This is a great choice to get someone’s attention on your front porch!

Animal Cutouts

Animals are especially kid-friendly. There are hundreds of templates online that are easy to trace onto a pumpkin. Animals are a great friendly face to add to the pumpkin bunch!

Spell Something!

Who said you have to carve faces or designs onto a pumpkin? Use multiple to spell out a word or relay a message. Letter templates can be found here.

Silhouettes

Of course, you can always create classic silhouette designs that stand out with a tea-light candle in the pumpkin! These give a bit of an eerie feeling. Always a great option!

Have fun this year with your pumpkin designs! We’re excited to see what you come up with.
