5 Day Trip Ideas (Close to DFW)
After the crazy snow storm last week, are you in need of a quick and fun getaway within the next couple of weekends? Luckily for you, there are so many fun things to do within a couple of hours from DFW!
1) Waco
If you are a fan of the TV show “Fixer Upper,” you are probably already familiar with Magnolia! This is a market center located by the silos, and is known for shopping, games and food trucks! Click here to visit their website and get more info on what goes on here!

In addition to Magnolia, Waco is loved for its BSR cable park. This is a water park complete with slides, a lazy river, wakeboarding cables, and much more. They are open again in March! If you’re interested in looking at tickets, click here to visit the website!

Lastly, if you love Dr. Pepper, you can’t miss the Dr. Pepper museum located just minutes away from Magnolia! You can take tours, buy merchandise, and have some delicious old fashioned Dr. Pepper! Click here to head to their website.

2) Turner Falls
If you’re wanting to get out of Texas for a day, Turner Falls in Oklahoma is the place to go. There is lots of adventure to be done here with hikes, slides, and beautiful waterfalls! There are also camping/cabin options if you are looking into an overnight stay. Turner Falls is about 2 hours from DFW. Click here for more info on this great getaway!

Also, do yourself a favor and stop by Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pies while you’re up here! It’s the perfect sweet treat for everyone traveling.

3) Glen Rose
Glen Rose is located about an hour and a half from DFW and makes the perfect family trip! Fossil Rim is a great stop here. It is a wildlife center complete with tours to see lots of exotic animals. In addition, the Paluxy River located in Glen Rose is known as one of the best places to go tubing in Texas. It’s also just a great place to spend some leisurely time in the water with your kids.

4) San Marcos
San Marcos is a great place to go if you want to feel like a tourist! Some of the activities here include paddle boarding, the LBJ museum, exploring underground caves, and a HUGE outlet mall to shop at. You will never get bored if you head this way! 5) Pilot Point
One of the major spring trends in North Texas is the Texas Tulips! This beautiful field is full of color and beautiful tulips. Whether you want to take cute pictures or get a nice bouquet of flowers, this is a great short trip! Keep an eye on their website to find the official opening day, you won’t want to miss it.
